Nominations to Serve Senate District 46 DFL

SENATE DISTRICT 46 DFL (SD46) CENTRAL COMMITTEE:
The Executive Committee is composed of the Chair, Vice Chair (gender balanced), Secretary, Treasurer, and Outreach Officer, and
up to 11 Directors. The SD46 Central Committee consists of the Executive Committee plus 6 State Central Committee (SCC) Delegates, and up to 8 SCC Alternatesย  – all elected for 2-year terms.

OUTREACH OFFICER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Writes and implements a plan to include people of underrepresented communities (e.g., BIPOC, youth, families under 40, disabled); Reads the Affirmative Action & Inclusion statement at meetings; Ensures meetings and events do not conflict with religious or cultural holidays; Ensures accessibility accommodations (e.g., disabilities, seating, language, etc.) are met at all meetings and events; Actively participates in SD46 unit community events, such as parades and festivals; Leads or actively participates in Outreach & Inclusion Committee; Maintains community outreach contact records.

Represents SD46 at 3rd and 5th Congressional District Outreach & Inclusion Committees (TBD); Attends monthly SD46 Central Committee meetings held on the 3rd Thursday of each month; Attends SD46 Executive Committee meetings as called by the Chair.

Officers serve a two-year term. In this case, the term is one year due to a resignation. The position will be up for election again in 2025.

DIRECTORS:
Directors are assigned a primary area of responsibility and are expected to serve on and/or lead a standing committee (e.g., Event Planning, Fundraising, Volunteer Recruitment, etc.)

STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEE (SCC) DELEGATES AND ALTERNATE RESPONSIBILITIES:

These positions are gender balanced and balanced for city representation, as far as is possible.ย The State Central Committee Delegates represent DFL SD46 on the DFL State Central Committee. Delegates and Alternates are expected to attend quarterly (on Saturdays) SCC meetings to conduct State DFL party business such as, but not limited to: Budget Approvals, Resolutions, Amendments to bylaws, and Electing State Party Officers between conventions.
